Warm Clothing

Since September 2004 HAWP has shipped tens of thousands of pounds of clothing and other essential items to Afghan widows and orphans. Most of these were shipped from the Chantal Cookware warehouse directly to Kabul; however, 1,600 pounds of new clothing and blankets were donated by a Chinese factory and shipped directly from China to Afghanistan. Also, we ship hundreds of pounds of donated clothing from Savannah, Georgia. We also ship used clothing, which has been donated or purchased. Shoes and toiletries must be purchased new. Temperatures are brutally cold during the five months of winter in Afghanistan. Having warm clothing during the severe winter months is vital for these people to survive.
