Halloden Orphanage, Kabul
During the winter of 2006, the children at Halloden Orphanage were suffering greatly from the extremely cold weather. HAWP purchased five wood-burning stoves and has continued to provide wood for the stoves to heat the orphanage each winter, as well as cold and flu medicines. HAWP also sponsored two teachers to provide instruction that would otherwise not be available. As a special treat to warm their hearts as well as their hands, HAWP provided stuffed animals. For these children who have nothing nor anyone to love them, the unconditional love of a soft toy can mean so much.
